Baked Camembert ~ Camembert Assado

Ingredientes:

75 gr de nozes

1 queijo camembert

1 colher de sopa de manteiga, derretida

1 colher de sopa de açucar moscavado

1 colher de sopa de mel

Sal q.b.

1 pitada de pimenta caiena

1 pitada de canela

Compota de frutos silvestres


Preparação:

Pré-aqueça o forno a 180º C e prepare um tabuleiro forrado com papel vegetal.


Espalhe as nozes e toste-as durante 10 minutos.


Enquanto as nozes estiverem no forno, misture numa taça a manteiga derretida, o açúcar mascavado, o mel, a canela, o sal e a pimenta caiena.


De seguida, coloque as nozes tostadas no molho e misture para que fiquem bem envolvidas.

Espalhe as nozes de novo no tabuleiro, e volte a colocar no forno, durante 10 minutos, mexendo a cada 3 ou 4 minutos. Retire do forno e deixe arrefecer.


Volte a pré-aquecer o forno a 180º C e prepare um tabuleiro forrado com papel vegetal. Corte com cuidado o topo do camembert. Leve o queijo ao forno até começar a derreter (10 a 15 minutos).


Retire e coloque por cima do camembert a compota e as nozes caramelizadas.


Decore a gosto. Eu optei por amoras frescas e alecrim. Sirva quente acompanhado de umas tostinhas de pão.

75 gr walnuts or pecan nuts

1 camembert cheese

1 tablespoon butter, melted

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon honey

Salt

1 pinch of cayenne pepper

1 pinch of cinnamon

Berry compote

Fresh berries, to decorate


Method:

Preheat oven to 180º C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.


Spread the nuts on the baking sheet, and toast for 10 minutes.


While the nuts are toasting, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, salt and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Add the roasted nuts to this mixture and mix well.


Spread the nuts back onto the baking tray, and return to the oven for a further 10 minutes, stirring every 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.


Preheat the oven once again to 180º C, and once again line a baking tray with parchment paper. Carefully cut the top of the camembert. Place the cheese in the oven until it begins to melt (10 to 15 minutes).


Thereafter remove from oven. Top the baked camembert with the berry compote and caramelized nuts.


Decorate to taste - I opted for fresh berries and rosemary sprigs.


Serve hot, accompanied with a toasted bread.
